After completing the Harrod Blank’s Web site for his Art Car Agency I was asked to redesign his fathers film site to feature all of his films and then make it easy to purchase DVD and other related products. The challenge was to be able to display all his movies on one page and then create an eCommerce site that eliminated the need for an ancient credit card machine in favor of using Paypal. While I was at it, I figured a new logo would be good so I created that as well to match the new and improved Les Blank Webs site.

Les Blank is renowned independent filmmaker best known for his feature-length “Burden of Dreams” (1982), documenting the chaotic production of Werner Herzog’s 1982 film “Fitzcarraldo” in the jungles of South America. Honored with a Criterion DVD edition and winner of the British Academy Award, Roger Ebert called the film “one of the most remarkable documentaries ever made about the making of a movie.”

Other films by Les Blank include “Garlic Is As Good As Ten Mothers” (1980) and his most recent film, “All In This Tea” (2007)

Les Blank was also recently honored by Tom Bates, Mayor of the City of Berkeley declared that “January 22, 2013 as Les Blank Day in the City of Berkeley in recognition of his creativity, sensitivity, humanity and enormous contribution to the documentary genre. see article.
